Dear fellow paddlers,
Worcester Canoe Club would like to invite your members to join them in our new event – the Worcester Ring Challenge on Sunday 12th July 2015.
The challenge is available in three different distances to cater for all abilities and tastes. The full 21 mile route departs from our clubhouse in Worcester, down the river Severn, then along the Worcester & Birmingham Canal from Diglis basin before coming back towards the Severn, along the recently reopened Droitwich Canals.
On the way you’ll see Worcester Cathedral as you pass through the city, then out into the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. There are locks (lots of them), tunnels, weirs (to portage) and bridges.
The event is fully supported and high quality. It will be timed and we will publish the results, but whether you want to try and set a quick time or just enjoy the challenge its up to you.
We are looking forward to seeing both K1 and K2 paddlers, cruisers and tourers and maybe people just out for a pleasant Sunday paddle.
We would be grateful if you could circulate the attached PDF of the poster amongst your club members, and forward this email on to them.Below is the web link to the application forms, club details, route details, transport and parking details.
There are a limited number of applicants only, so a speedy response is essential to secure a position in what will be a special day. You can make a team entry if you prefer.
Please do not hesitate in responding to the email address below and help make this a special and successful event.
