Membership Details - 2025-2026 (From May 2025)

FULL (18 & Over): £90
CHILD OF A MEMBER  (Under the Age of 12): £10
YOUTH/STUDENT IN FULL TIME EDUCATION (12-18 in Full time Education): £45
(Note: All children under the of 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian)
BECOMING INVOLVED
  1. Coaching at all levels as a member of the Coaching Team.
  2. Volunteering at or organising small or large events.
  3. Volunteering for organising small or large club-based tasks.
  4. Assisting in the Club’s organisation as a member of the Committee.
  5. Encouraging and helping others of all levels and ages.
  6. All year round, regular river trips for all craft.
  7. Inter-club marathon kayaking competitions from beginner to national level
  8. During the winter pool sessions at local Oswestry school & Derwen college swimming pools.
  9. Half day, full day, weekend, multi-day tours and events local, regional and national.
  10. Assisting with School, Scout and other Community Groups. 
WHAT YOU GET
  1. More than 40 canoes, kayaks and SUPs – free for use on club sessions/trips.
  2. All year round paddling opportunities.
  3. A variety of buoyancy aids, paddles & spray decks.
  4. Coached sessions at various levels of performance.
  5. Access to sessions/courses leading to nationally recognised Awards.
  6. Equipment for club tours, trips and events.
MEMBERSHIP FEE INCLUDES
  1. Regular access to the large, modern club house, including hot showers.
  2. Landing stages and priority use of them.
  3. Affiliated membership of Paddle UK.
  4. Free guidance and advice from experienced and qualified personnel.
  5. Eligibility to attend in a variety of club events, local, regional and national.
  6. Formulation, adoption and implementation of club policies and procedures.
  7. Club ‘open’ meetings (once every 3 months)
  8. Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.
  9. Regular theory/topics of interest evenings at the club house.
  10. Give feedback, join in members’ discussions at club ‘open’ meetings (once every 3 months).
OTHER FEES
  • £5 trip fees for official club trips on rivers, lakes and the sea.
  • £10 trip fees for multi-day trips on rivers, lakes and the sea.
  • Instructors/Leaders and Coaches are exempted from trip fees provided they are PUK qualified and up to date with all PUK requirements (First Aid/Safeguarding/CPD)
  • The membership year is 1st May to 30th April.
  • Guests may try the facilities by arrangement for  up to 2 sessions at £15.00 per session.
  • Non-member attending a multi-day activity £30 regardless of how many days.
  • Private Group Taster Sessions on SUP, Kayak, Open Canoe, Raft, Bell Boat from £350 per session.
  • Oswestry pool sessions are £7.50 per session.
  • Derwen College pool sessions are £5 per sessions (Coaches FOC)
  • For non-club organised trips, equipment hire is £15 per day or part day for members only. No charge for equipment if used on organised club activity.
  • You can store your boat at the club for £30/annum (subject to space).

With appropriate parental support children over 12 can quite easily participate.

You will be shown around a great  sports facility by friendly volunteers (we are all volunteers!), have a full explanation of what we do and what  is on offer to members, have all your questions answered openly and honestly, be able to discuss your needs and expectations and given a clear indication of how they can be met.  In the unlikely event of the Club  not providing what you seek you will be given clear and current guidance on alternatives and options.

You will not be subject to sales patter and pressure to join.

Naturally we hope you will join us but that obviously remains entirely your choice!
