Shropshire Paddlesport: Sea Kayaking

Sea Kayaking

Sea kayaking takes you to places you can’t get to by any other means. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you like. The sea does demand respect but with careful planning and training it can be a great experience whatever level you paddle it at.

The club runs training and development, beginner and intermediate trips and so as long as you can paddle and confident in your abilities then there is something for you.

Sea kayak Touring

Sea kayaking can be an adrenaline fuelled ride or it can be a tour of the fascinating coastline of Anglesey and North Wales.

You get to see some breath taking sights which can only be done from a sea kayak.

SEA KAYAK Training

To learn to sea kayak, you need to learn to paddle a normal kayak first. Once you have got good boat handing skills then you can venture on to our training sessions on Bala/Tegid. We have 4 excellent club boats which suit most adults and so we can accommodate most people. We are planning to introduce rescue training on Ellesmere so that you can be confident when you join us on trip on the sea.

Areas Covered

With our close proximity to Wales, we cover sea kayaking in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Wrexham, Shropshire and North Wales. For beginners, our club house is next to the Montgomery Canal. We are also in easy access to the sea including Barmouth, Abersoch, Llyn Peninsula, Llandudno, Menai Straits, Anglesey, Holy Island and Hilbre in the Dee estuary.
