They did however experiment during their practice and second run with how sensitive the edges are on a slalom C2, taking a couple of dips in the Trent.
Anne and Erica also took on their first slalom race in a kayak, racing in Division 4 .During the lunchtime interval Anne had a few practice runs which paid dividends when on her second run she improved by over 30 seconds to finish in a very respectable 4th place. Our friend Erica finished 1st place in the Masters Women’s category.
Anita competed in the veteran kayak women’s class and was happy to improve on her second run with a clear run and 3 seconds quicker than the first run – partly perhaps aided by the river rising by 20cms between first and second runs.
